“The clearly more relaxed - in the sense of uncomplicated drinkable - STCE from the Velier series. For me, both are almost on par, only the slightly greater aromatic force brings the 2010 razor-thin in front. However, both offer high quality, without any doubt.”

“Another retaste and I still love it 😊 Retasting this one today and I stick to my score 😊 Very intense from pouring to finish. I rested it for 15 minutes and by then it had settled a bit and the ABV was perfectly integrated at that time. Fruity and spicy with wood on the palate and the esters were also detectable. I picked up light menthol on the palate and I liked it. The finish is like forever and really, really nice. Price to quality is extremely good in my mind.”

“Very nice bottling. A bit behind the 2005 (13y bottling). This is a bottling which changes dramatically with oxidation. While the freshly opened bottle is very fibrant, this will (relatively fast) deteriorate. Still: a little upgrade based on the „newly opened experience“. Compared to the older 2005 (18y) bottling, this is much more ester forward and straight into your face. More (artificial) fruit notes and more adstringent. Very different tasting experience. Both truely nice, however.”

“Very good, but less balanced and fragrant than Long Pond TECA, VR and TECC. The ABV is a bit predominant compared to its other counterparts mentioned earlier. What did not particularly impress me was the aromatic bouquet that I perceived it a bit too light and not well blended. It's lucky that I tried a sample because I don't know if at the figure of 150 euros I would have bought it, at the same amount I would have opted for a TECA. However beyond the price it remains a nice rum highly above average, but one that disappoints expectations a little for the name it carries. For those who have never tasted a Long Pond it remains an interesting experience absolutely worth trying.There is no lack of typical roasted and pastry notes on the nose and palate with a medium tropical fruit (perhaps pineapple) finish.”

“Very good Long Pond/Cambridge 🤤🤤, but i miss here the power like the 2005th version (5/6% less than the 2005). Nose: Classic delicious mix of ester, nail polish, glue, solvents, various trop fruits, citrus with a some notes of the barrel Mouth: Ester, solvents, trop. fruits, a bit flowery and sweet. And licorice 🤔 Finish: long, with a lot of various notes of the barrel paired with a fruity note (pineapple). Really delicious The alcohol is integrated very well For me Cambridge 2005>>>Cambridge 2010.”

“Superb! Esterised nose. Ripe fruit. Light oak. An appealing freshness. On the palate, it's really very good. We find again the markers of the nose accompanied by very pleasant floral notes. The finish is insanely smooth and of very decent length. The release price is high. The bottle is not the same as the previous ones in the series. But it's VERY good! Edit: first impression confirmed.”

“In direct comparison to the 2005, this bottling appears much more harmonious and fruity!But also with a little more ester and and nail polish.In the fruit I have initially an overripe, fermented papaya... who knows it; is not so great! But that fades quickly!On the palate, initially pleasantly mild and sweet, then intense, funky,fruity, woody and some allspice, great!The finish is medium long. Tannins and light woodiness predominate!It is in no way inferior to the 2005, although the profiles are somewhat different!”

“The nose is brilliant. This is unmistakably a continental flavored Jamaican rum, and yet it's as round and approachable as you'd expect from Barbados. Along with nail polish and a fermented tropical fruit basket, there's plenty of vanilla, sweet pastry with strawberry syrup, and a bit of tart herbalism at the very back. In the mouth, the roundness takes revenge and costs some complexity. While the tart notes (slightly smoky curry leaves, as is often the case with high ester rums) are more prominent, it lacks some depth behind fruity esters and the sweet vanilla. The finish continues to be very smooth with prominent curry leaves. The has the feel-good factor of the HV EMB 2010. The bottle is ordered 🤤”

“again a top STC🖤E bottling! From memory, I would argue that the 2005 Cambridge was still a little edgier. But perhaps it is simply because of its lower ABV that the 2010 comes along a bit rounder and more balanced. On the nose, a really good balance of fermented, overripe fruit, fruit bread, iodine, balsamic vinegar. On the palate again this light gravy note, but everything in the green range and not yet as extreme as in the TECA bottlings.”

“An ultra-balanced Long Pond throughout: powerful, fine, delicate and very expressive, the control of the aromas is really excellent. Ripe exotic fruits and citrus take the lead, followed by phenolic notes, then come woody, vanilla, spicy and fresh notes that counterbalance the typical high ester profile. The esters dissipate on the palate, with tropical fruit, woody and floral notes finding their ease for a very nice taste balance. It is round, elegant and with just the right amount of character. The tannins are also present and are felt on a long, more vegetal finish, seasoned with leather and licorice in addition to the fruit. A superb Long Pond, all in control.”

“Way too heavy on the menthol and lime. Wears out its welcome when you actually own it and is best enjoyed as a sample (where it makes a great first impression). There is some nice fruit way in the background but the lime and menthol just dominates everything to the point of it becoming annoying. You overlook it at first but then it gets really grating. Best used as a menthol drink to clear you out after a big dinner. Unpopular opinion: this is an overrated bottle that you should try before you buy.”
