How does this rum taste?
The "Rare Cask Series HLCF" from Hampden Distillery is a Jamaican rum celebrated for its bold tropical flavors and complex aroma profile. Distilled in 2010 and aged for 12 years, this cask strength rum offers intense notes of overripe fruit, phenols, and spice. With a limited release of just 240 bottles, it exhibits a notable balance of floral essences, a rich oily texture, and underlying hints of licorice and olive. Ideal for seasoned rum enthusiasts, its high alcohol content and robust ester profile make it an intriguing, if polarizing, option in the premium rum category. Best appreciated by collectors and connoisseurs.

I would probably buy a bottle of this if it weren't for the price, I like it very much. Creamy and oily, the esters are wonderfully integrated. Wood, licorice, some olive, solvent paired with lots of tropical fruits.
This one is even more floral than the previous one and also fruity and pretty well balanced. Intense and oily on the palate and the empty glass is really nice after an hour and I can find licorice in it.
