Clairin, young, but with Caroni essence. That's a great combination. Nose: fruity-sweet and artificial at the same time, slightly smoky and actually with some Caroni dirtiness. Honey sweetness with tart passion fruit and gooseberry. A little woody at the back with a light vinegar essence. There are none of the typical vegetal notes here. I really like it. Palate: a little flat at the beginning, but then an intense, spicy-floral flavor curve emerges. Salty at first, then allspice and aniseed. Then some fatty nuts, lovely violets and herbs. On the finish, that slightly dirty note from the Caroni. Green and sweet on the finish, becoming grassier. What can I say, the Caroni cask turns the Clairin into a wonderful, aromatic rum.
