How does this rum taste?
- une belle gourmandise au nez
- long and warm finish
- jemny, nasladly rum plny kokosu
Foursquare 2007 by Excellence Rhum balances coconut, vanilla, and woody aromas with a noticeable alcohol presence. RumX members find the nose invitingly gourmand—@Simon Leroux called it "une belle gourmandise au nez"—but the palate leans spicy and intense, with hints of coffee and tropical fruit. The alcohol is often cited as "trop présent" (@Jacques etdom) and not fully integrated, making it lively but perhaps less balanced than some expect. Coconut and pastry notes return throughout, with long, warm finishes. A touch of rest helps relax the edges—@Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰 recommends letting it breathe.

"17.05.2019 Nice get together at my place with nice spread of rums. Notes Light in colour. Nose Fresh, round, fruity, light wood, faint smoke, pineapple, faint coffee. Palate Intense, round, fresh, fruity, spice, light wood, light chocolate. Finish Long and warm, fruity, light wood, spice, pineapple, light citrus, faint chocolate. Extra note. Needs to rest for a good while or the alcohol will bite."
"A rather dull Foursquare, lacking life and depth. The nose is shy on aromas, with a hint of coconut, spices and caramel, but nothing too extravagant. The alcohol is even a little too present, slightly irritating the nostrils. The attack on the palate is thin and rather alcoholic. The rum is strong on spices, caramel, pastries, fruit and a little wood, but the whole lacks finesse and depth. The alcohol unbalances the palate, making the experience all the more unpleasant. The finish is long, sweet and warm on butterscotch and toasted coconut, with some coffee and spice notes. It's not an awful rum, but a slight reduction would have done it good, as would a few more years of aging. We can expect more from the bottler's selection."
"Une belle gourmandise au nez qui précède une bouche plus charpentée. Beau rhum "
