“17.05.2019 Nice get together at my place with nice spread of rums. Notes Light in colour. Nose Fresh, round, fruity, light wood, faint smoke, pineapple, faint coffee. Palate Intense, round, fresh, fruity, spice, light wood, light chocolate. Finish Long and warm, fruity, light wood, spice, pineapple, light citrus, faint chocolate. Extra note. Needs to rest for a good while or the alcohol will bite.”

“Un Foursquare assez terne, qui manque de vie et de profondeur. Le nez est timide sur les arômes, on ressent un peu la noix de coco, les épices et le caramel, mais rien de très extravagant. L’alcool est même un peu trop présent et irrite légèrement les narines. L’attaque en bouche est mince et plutôt alcoolique. On a un rhum puissant sur les épices, le caramel, les pâtisseries, les fruits et un peu de bois, mais l’ensemble manque de finesse et de profondeur. L’alcool déséquilibre le palais, ne rendant l’expérience que moins agréable. La finale est longue, sucrée et chaleureuse sur le caramel au beurre et la noix de coco rôtie, avec quelques notes de café et d’épices. Ce n’est pas un rhum affreux, mais une légère réduction lui aurait fait du bien, ainsi que quelques années de vieillissement supplémentaires. On est en mesure d’en attendre plus de la sélection de l’embouteilleur.”
