Excellent New Yarmouth in the "funky" style of its CDI predecessors with a little more barrel influence. Makes real fun!

The almost 3 years more in the barrel have done the rum in my opinion very good. Alcohol is almost perfectly integrated. Clearly smoother and quaffable as the two predecessors of RA and in my opinion also more intense typical cookie dough note, plus baking spices, lots of pineapple and banana bread and minimal citrus notes and light roast flavors. Wood is clearly perceived more intense but at no point too much. Probably the best thing CDI has brought out in a long time! And also in the Mai Tai he topped the two RA's again clearly because the additional wood here simply brings more harmony purely. Mega delicious just!

Endlich wieder New Yarmouth 2009. Ein toller Release und eine tolle Fassauswahl von Perola. Das Profil ist etwas holziger und gereifter als man es von den beiden RA (First & Second Edition) kennt, dennoch ist die New Yarmouth DNA absolut da. Persönlich sehe ich ihn ganz leicht hinter dem Wild Parrot New Yarmouth 2009 (RX13281) aber wenn man den Preis der beiden Flaschen vergleicht (WP 240€ vs. CDI 150€) dann muss ich das in meine Bewertung einfließen lassen und beide landen bei hervorragenden 88 und damit auch bei exakt dem Wert den ich dem RA NYE First Edition gegeben habe. Chapeau für diesen Release und jeder New Yarmouth Fan muss diese Flasche besitzen und öffnen. Heute Abend geht’s direkt ab mit dem Gerät in den Mai Tai. Update: Für mich einer der geilsten Releases in 2022

Among the mass of CDI once again one with class. A great NY.Nose: wonderfully powerful with a neat package of esters and fine, intense marzipan. Pattex glue and discreet vinegar are not missing either. There's also fresh lime, ripe, tart pineapple and ripe banana. Behind that, a slight sweetness of sugar syrup and something like brioche or cookie dough. Could smell it forever.Palate: already clearly astringent at the beginning with a short bitter note. But then the esters follow right through and the pineapple with lime zest come through. Behind that it becomes a bit calmer, doughier... Brioche and fruit bread with candied orange peel, plus some anise or licorice. The finish also brings back the marzipan with some green tea.Great nose, nice flavor curve on the palate, not too demanding. 👍

Really good stuff !!! PLV fits her a lot better than the Wild Parrot...Incredibly well integrated alcohol fruit and wood messengers well balanced ... burnt biscuit dough (cake) ... beautiful esternoten Am thrilled.

Irgendwie habe ich ja eine Schwäche für New Yarmouth, insbesondere mit starken Keksteig-Noten, aber leider gibts das viel zu selten! Hier haben wir mal wieder eine klasse Abfüllung, die für mich auch aus der breiten Masse von CDI heraussticht. Der RA NY First gehört für mich zu meinen Lieblingsrum, auch wenn er etwas bestialisch daher kommt. Der CDI kommt dem ganzen recht nahe, zeigt sich aber holziger, runder und damit gemäßigter. Aktuell sehe ich ihn daher hinter dem RA, aber das kommt vermutlich sehr auf die Tagesform an. Klasse Rum, der das New Yarmouth Profil liefert, aber auch nicht zu anstrengend ist. Leckere Ester, dazu der NY-Keksteig, der für mich allerdings sogar noch etwas präsenter sein dürfte. Trotzdem klasse und lecker, lecker, lecker!

Der Bauerngaumen sagt: Das mag ein objektiv sehr guter Rum sein, aber nee, der ist irgendwie nicht meins, ich werde mit dem nicht warm, vor allem wegen des merkwürdigen Geruchs, einer Mischung aus Marzipan und Babykotze. 🙄 Hinzu kommt, dass ich ihn gegen den NY 1994 von V&M (RX10419) verkostet habe, da kann er natürlich nur verlieren. Ich werde dem Rum bei Gelegenheit eine zweite Chance geben, dann nicht im Crosstasting.

This is a very lovely bottle for all High Ester lovers. Blindly could this be a strange Hampden too. Awesome nose with a mix of funk, esters, fruits and baking spices. All those smells are also reflected in the mouth. The alcohol is integrated very well. The finish is delicious with a lot of grilles pineapple and long.

In der Nase kommt er nicht zu stürmisch herüber wie die RA New Yarmouth, man merkt das dieser länger im Fass war. Aber trotzdem, funky, funky, funky - Zitrusfrüchte, Marzipan, Keksteig und jede Menge Ester! Nach kurzer Zeit bereits wirklich zugänglich und bereit für den Gaumen! Hier geht es weiter - deutlich höhere Adstringenz, finde man schmeckt das Bourbonfass, allerdings angenehm und der Alkohol ist wirklich toll eingebunden. Junges Holz und die vorgenannten Noten in der Nase sind ebenfalls am Gaumen präsent. Wirklich toll - klasse Abfüllung von CDI, lange ist es her. Für mich auf einem Level mit der 1st Edition von RA NY. Der CDI ist erwachsener und nicht mehr ganz so wild.
