How does this rum taste?
RumX members love this 21-year Saint James selection for its powerful nose and elegant balance. Expect caramel and coffee over oak, leading to dark chocolate and dried fruit with a gentle nutmeg spice. Reviewers often enjoy it neat; some even note a fine cigar pairing. While a few wanted more complexity or punch, with 57 reviews and strong buyer confidence, it’s a popular choice for darker, roasted agricole profiles.

I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 46,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.

Franconian Tasting Gang on 10.05.2024 First of all, a big thank you to DomM for providing this set. Personally, I didn't like the profile. With one exception, this soap flavor is too much for me. But thanks to DomM and Serge, the leftovers from the glasses ended up in a spontaneous and outstanding cocktail.
Not too bad though I would have liked more complexity to a rum this age. Fruity with spices and really nice wood. I like that you get roasted coffee on the nose.
Tasted on the Whisky and Rum festival 2022. IJmuiden. www.zeewijck.nl Zeewijcks boss' Richard poured this to me. Lovely aged rum. Really good.
A bit fresher on the nose than the 1998. The sweet vanilla, caramel and grassy notes remain, along with tropical fruits. The palate reveals a pleasant melange of fruit, wood and spices, but lacks the final refinement.
