How does this rum taste?
Single Origin Rum Dominican Republic Aroma Grande, produced by Alcoholes Finos Dominicanos and bottled by 1423 World Class Spirits, is a column-distilled rum from sugarcane juice with an ABV of 57%. Notably rich in ester notes, this Dominican rum offers aromas reminiscent of varnish, glue, lemon, and grapes, leading to a sweet yet chemical palate with hints of citrus and marzipan. Its potent character is often noted as an ideal choice for cocktails, especially daiquiris, where its unique profile can shine. However, its overt chemical and glue-like notes can overpower when sipped neat, making it a divisive but intriguing option for rum enthusiasts.

A "compulsive" purchase on a pirate site in Germany... at 32€ you can't go far wrong with a great aroma BUT, of course, the nose is completely on esters and alcohol; too much alcohol. On the palate, however, there's some fruit, not unpleasant. I took it as a daiquiri afterwards, and it really does it! Not crazy, but still worth a small 7.
Pure somewhat difficult in the drink not so wrong. Aromatically extremely much varnish and esters, but somehow not the beautiful esters. Reminds me of an unclean distilled pomace brandy with the pre- and post-run was not properly separated and thus the Uhu glue comes through. But as I said, in the drink really good and for a rum from the Dom Rep amazingly interesting.
Crass, smells like UHU! 😳 On the palate, unfortunately, quite alcoholic. Nevertheless, an exciting experience!
#4015 I would prefer this rum on the rocks or in a mixer. It's a little bit off in my mind, but I do like the very long and dry finish that stays with you for a long while.
