Arehucas Añejo Reserva Especial
Most enjoy its sweet caramel-vanilla profile and fair price, while critics find it too thin, sharp and sugary. Consensus: an okay, easy Spanish rum, but nothing special neat.
Those who like sweet, gentle Spanish-style rums with caramel and vanilla notes, want something easy at 40% ABV, and value an affordable, undemanding everyday pour or rum-and-cola.

How does this rum taste?
Sweet, easy, but a bit thin
If you enjoy soft, sweet supermarket Hispanics and want a slightly older, still easy upgrade for casual sipping or mixing, this will work—just don’t expect big depth or complexity.
Enthusiasts seeking complexity, dry profiles or clean alcohol integration; anyone who dislikes added sweetness or finds sharp, slightly boozy notes off-putting when sipping neat.

A very nice Spanish rum from a destillery making rum since 1884 and has been delivering to the Spanish Royal family since 1892. A ver refined rum with a nicely rounded palate. Clear taste of molasses, spices and tobacco. Very good at the price tag.
7:On the nose, we get oak spice and vanilla with lightly pungent baking spice (allspice, nutmeg and hints of cinnamon) and leather. Caramel and marzipan climb into the breezes and well as notes of banana and bits of bittersweet chocolate. 7,2:On the palate, this rum is lightly sweet with light caramel and chocolate flavours combined with leathery oak and vanilla. Baking spice (cinnamon and hints of clove) and dry fruit (raisin) add some complexity as does a taste of nougat and pungent tobacco. It is pleasant to sip with some higher citrus notes brightening the palate. 6,8:The finish is short, but it is smooth with ebbing flavours of chocolate caramel and fine oak spice..
