"Wow. Great strong HGML. You won't find anything like this anywhere else, so it's hard to rate. If you like Hampden, you're definitely getting something sensational here. In the nose directly a firework of HGML ester notes. In the mouth then surprisingly soft and round. You would hardly believe it, but the rum is well drinkable for its 86%. In the end, it lacks a bit of flavor to stand up to the alcoholic spiciness. Great thing, which of course has its price, but in my eyes is still ok, since the comparison possibilities are missing."
"Maximum intensity: the 86% drives both the esters and the tropical fruits neatly into the nose. Oddly enough, this quickly gets used to it. Now there is also room for more specific: coconut, banana, a bit of vinegar and marzipan. Plus some wood and tart, roasted hazelnut out the back. Caution is advised. The alcohol makes it creamy and really warm on the palate. Strongly astringent at the start, the fine esters then pop on the tongue. Definitely sweet, tart, ripe pineapple here now with passion fruit and neat marzipan. The back is a bit more buttery with a squeeze of lemon, and the long finish is clearly esters. In addition, pineapple, marzipan and at the very end the barrel comes through a little.HGML is already brilliant in itself, but with these %% even more of a challenge!!!"
"This one was the big surprise at the Germen Rum Festival. For a two year old it carries a nice controlled punch on the nose with intense notes. On the palate it just explodes with esters and fruits and the alcohol is very well integrated, so much so that it was something we talked a lot about."
"What a grenade!!! HGML i love it !!! What happened in 2 years is incredible!!! Super well integrated alcohol 86% what the fu...ck wood impact of the Virgin Oak clearly perceptible but not disturbing .... Fruit ,ester all to the point .... Jamaica Brutalo Bomb"
