“Kind of featureless. Older blend without unique selling points. Today in the Zweiverkostung clearly stronger without powerful opponents from Jamaica. Very drinkable and round. However, not earth-shattering either.”

“#4535 10.01.2024 Sittibg at home relaxing getting ready for another check up in hospital tomorrow. This is a very nice complex and well balanced rum. Fruity with nice spices and light roasted notes. The palate is oily and the ABV is very well integrated. There is a very nice touch of sugarcane on the palate. The finish is medium to long and has light anise and grass to it. Happy that I bought a bottle ☺️”

“Very multilayered, not too sweet, but rather woody (positive!) Agricole blend. Tastes really very good to me, but must first prove itself in crosstasting against another No. 1 - well, which one probably? 😉 [Ok, I mean the Saint James Les Ephémeres No. 1 - RX12796, which was significantly cheaper at release, but can now only be obtained with a lot of luck. 😋] Now without comparison sample initially 88 points - so already pretty excellent. Recommendation!”

“La Grande Dame….. bei dieser Nase…definitiv…. Da könnte ich stundenlang dran schnuppern…herrlich fruchtig, leicht floral, dezente Süße mit Vanille… Der Gaumen ist erwartungsgemäß relativ weich und dünn… da ist er schon fast klassisch Agricole.. ein herausragendes Merkmal ist nicht erkennbar, aber hier im positiven Sinne, er schmeichelt dem Gaumen und gegen Ende ist eine deutliche grasige Note wahrnehmbar… dieses setzt sich im Abgang fort. Ein sehr guter Agricole”

“on the nose very nicely balanced with allspice, wood, dried fig, caramel, vegetal notes. On the palate old barrel, nutmeg, tobacco, caramel, green peppers. The finish is spicy tart. Really good J.M! Many thanks, Rod, for the sample!”

“Great Agricole with a beautiful nose in which vanilla is in the foreground and is surrounded and complemented by a variety of other and diverse flavors. The palate is also very tasty (even coconut is there) and despite a lot of wood everything fits. I like it very much ... even the ABV is adequate. Thanks Rod for sharing!”

“Rotgolde Farbe. Sehr schön. Getrocknete Früchte, Kirsche, dunkle Schokolade. Karamell und grasig. Perfekt ausgewogen. Im Mund dann ordentlich Pfeffer, warm, kräfti, vollmundig. Kurzer Abgang. J.M war mal mein Lieblingsagricole, nun seit langen mal wieder im Glas. Sehr guter Rum, höchste Handwerkskunst. Zu den ganz Großen wie Liberation und Neisson fehlt dann aber das letzte Quentchen Wohlgeschmack.”

“The nose is great. A crazy greediness. The different types of cask balance each other perfectly. In the mouth it is also excellent. The spicy side comes out more in the mouth than the nose suggested and it is therefore for the lovers of agricole. Personally I find this rum really excellent.”

“Nase: hat was von Haselnuss Krokant, Nuss Nougat, Tabak und Zimtsternen. Geschmack: leicht bitter, würzig schwer und ölig. Bittermandel, Zartbitter Schokolade, Pfeifentabak, stark getoastetes Fass, karamellisierte Feige und Sternanis. Super komplex und intensiv. Sehr schön!”

“I compared the last of my sample with the J.M. XO. It’s better on all fronts: the nose is sweeter and more seductive, great balance in the flavor profile between the agricole, herbal, woody and sweet notes. The aftertaste beats the XO with a small margin. But considering the difference in price tag, I expected more to be honest. Value for money: buy a bottle of XO and something else along with it. But that’s just my two cents.”

“Je trouve ce blend magnifique ! Très harmonieux. C'est fruité épicé gourmand complexe et l'intégration de l'alcool est pour moi parfaite. Vraiment une très belle réussite ! Deuxième dégustation : tout me plaît dans ce rhum ! le genre de rhum qui me passionne... mon regret c'est de ne pas avoir acheter une bouteille pendant qu'il était encore temps. Heureusement que mon ami Clément a acheté la doublette et qu'il m'en fait profiter. Merci 😉”
