No. 21C - Savalle Still LBI is an 8-year-old rum produced at the Diamond Distillery in Guyana and selected and bottled by independent bottler Nobilis Rum. Distilled in 2013 from Molasses with a Savalle Still, this limited release features only 290 bottles and an ABV of 64.7%. With tasting notes describing its aroma as a blend of vanilla, caramel, tropical fruit, citrus, and wood, the flavor includes woody, vanilla, peppery, dried fruit, and caramel nuances. Users appreciate the rum's fruity and intense profile without being off-balance, but some find it a little young and unfinished on the palate with the presence of alcohol. „Un rhum dans le style de La Bonne Intention, ancienne distillerie de Guyana. Le nez s’ouvre sur des notes de fruits exotiques et des agrumes, avant de laisser place au profil plus sombre caractéristique de la région. En bouche, l’attaque est agressive, on perçoit l’alcool mais le côté sombre revient et enveloppe le palais avec ses notes de café et ses épices, les fruits étant ici plus subtils. La finale, assez longue, amère et brutale, se pare d’épices, de cacao, de thé et de fruits secs. Un rhum assez dur, âpre et quelque peu déséquilibré. L’aération est nécessaire pour pleinement apprécier ce breuvage, mais quelques années de plus auraient vraiment permis à ce rhum de gagner de la profondeur.“

„Mein erster LBI. Ich schmecke das Potenzial des Profils. Mir gefällt es sehr gut. Aber wahrscheinlich einfach einige Jahre zu früh abgefüllt. Hoffen wir, dass wir mer davon sehen in Zukunft. Diese Abfüllung ist nicht ganz rund, nicht ganz fertig und der Alkohol ist auf der Zunge zu präsent.“

„This is part of a series of 3 rums and I like when bottlers try something new or experiment. This particular rum was young and fresh in both bouquet and on the palate, but it still managed to move things around. Fruity and intense without being put of balance.“

„Jetzt der letzte der drei Nobilis 21… La Bonne Nase: jung, frisch, beißend. Würzig-holzig und fruchtig. Apfel und Kiwi im Vordergrund, dahinter holzig und karamellige Süße, mit, wie bei den beiden anderen auch, Hefe und Brioche. Hier noch etwas Vanille und Kakaopulver. Insgesamt zu jung, zu unreif. 7,6 Gaumen: leider sehr unfertig, scharfkantig, bitter. Holzig-würzig, pfeffrig und leicht verbrannt. Etwas Kardamom ist dabei. Cremige Brioche-Textur. 7,2 Wie die anderen Beiden viel zu früh abgefüllt. Die drei Rums wirken noch nicht fertig. Alle haben aber definitiv Potenzial.“

„The young LBIs unfortunately fall off a bit overall for me in direct comparison to the young continental Demeraras. In addition to the fruity and light sweet notes, I perceive a somewhat confusing herbaceous-medicinal note here, which at first reminds me somewhat of the glue so often found in tropically aged Demeraras, but comes across somewhat differently - unfortunately in a negative sense. I am disturbed by this aroma, which unfortunately remains discernible on the palate, and consequently clouds my enjoyment of this release.“
