8,8:On the nose there is vanilla, wood, caramel, hazelnut ice cream, nougat, spices, fruit, lime peel, grilled pineapple, pears, peaches from bourbon ageing. The rum is very agricole, as sugar cane is juicy, mineral, smoky, roasted, dry, there are some red fruits, as raspberries. Very complex and unctuous. 8,5:On the palate, we find wood, caramel, spices, agricole smoke, the sugar cane is juicy and mineral, is a bit briny, resinous, there are roasted hazelnuts, cocoa, tobacco, some dried fruits, peaches, raisins, dry. Round and balanced. 8,4:The finish is long with sugar cane juice, mineral, is roasted, there is leather, nutmeg, walnuts, dried fruit, dryness... Edit:15.3.25 0,2 higher
Very solid and pleasing. Not super complex, but it doesn't have to be. The spicy notes suit it quite well.
Compared with the Single Batch 100% Canne Bleue, this cuvée is more attractive and aromatic. This is due in part to its distillation method and higher alcohol content. The nose opens with dried fruits, candied fruits and a spicy woodiness that turns to more toasty notes and very sweet caramel. On the palate, the extreme toasting reveals very intense empyreumatic notes, focusing on roasted hazelnuts, smokiness, cocoa and tobacco. Dried fruit and raisins combine with earthy, spicy notes to create a round, balanced and original profile for this type of rum. The finish continues the dark notes, leather, spices (nutmeg), nuts and dried fruit. An innovative profile that deserves to be experimented with older vintages. The value for money is worth the detour.
Burboun lovers would absolutely love this one! Sweet nose and woody taste. Great one!
