A pleasant, rather restrained nose. But on the palate comes a wonderful roastiness, chocolate and umami. Very horny 1998 Caroni!

Le nez est intense avec un mélange de pâtisseries et de fruits tropicaux, presque comme un beau Foursquare. L’impression est ici plus vive que pour le cask #9. Les arômes d’atelier mécanique sont présentes mais en arrière-plan. L’alcool marque la toute première bouche, mais les arômes envahissent la bouche aussitôt après. Une plus belle bouche que pour le cask #9, ample, généreuse. La finale est longue sur les pâtisseries, les fruits et un côté végétal rafraîchissant. Le verre vide est marqué par le végétal. Un très beau rhum, très proche et pourtant bien meilleur que son frère (#9).
I said it was rounder than expected, but after a few sips it’s clear that this is proper Caroni. Intense fun.
