“Really nice nose - but taste unfortunately really very woody, bitter sour and extremely dry and furry astringent ... Here, the otherwise so beautiful fruity spicy Chalong bay rum unfortunately has no chance against Armagnac cask and Virgin oak to arrive... Too bad! Had I hoped for more of.”

“Un jeune rhum thaïlandais avec pas mal de saveurs et de gourmandise. Le nez combine les saveurs florales et végétales de la canne à sucre avec les fruits exotiques (litchi) et les agrumes pour un ensemble très rond et doux. Les épices douces viennent apporter une petite pointe de complexité à l’ensemble. L’attaque en bouche est plus vive, portée par beaucoup d’épices, des notes de jeune bois et quelques saveurs empyreumatiques qui ont eu un certain impact sur le profil malgré le faible vieillissement. Les notes florales et les fruits exotiques reviennent en force, avec quelques notes minérales et caramélisées en complément. L’ensemble est globalement bien réalisé et l’alcool est bien intégré. En finale, les fruits de font plus discret au profit des notes mentholées, florales, végétales et épicées. La longueur est correcte. Un rhum au profil varié, très plaisant et qui confirme la montée en puissance de l’Asie sur le marché du rhum.”
