This Clairin from Velier is incredibly strong with strong peat/smoke and solvent aromas. Slight presence of olives.Compared to the Sajous it lacks more fruity notes.Great rum!Clairin Rums are true rums that have not altered over time and retain those fermentation and distillation processes of yesteryear. They are among the few rums left to give us a historical memory of what this great distillate was like. They are our past and at the same time our future!
A very nice and well rounded release and I really like the light smoke on the finish. The empty glass also has some light smoke to it after a while.
Wow
Le Rocher is probably my favorite of all the Velier clairins, and is definitely the most distinct. It’s pungent and wild, with a herbal/earthy quality reminiscent of Mezcal and a grassy brightness that mingles with some vegetal, plastic-y, and overripe fruit notes. It really demands your attention when sipped, makes some fantastic cocktails, all while sitting on the shelf at a remarkably affordable price.
