The Antigua Distillery Antigua
A sweet, coconut-forward Antigua rum with chocolate and caramel depth, though the alcohol is noticeable and not everyone finds it fully rounded. One to try if youâre into creamy coconut and a bit of a bite.
Coconut, caramel, chocolateâcreamy yet punchy Antigua sipper.

How does this rum taste?
- sweet nose with vanilla, coconut, some tropical fruits
- Indulgent to drink, although it can be sharp
- chocolate and coffee balances the overall profile
Folks on RumX keep coming back to coconut, caramel, and milk chocolate as the mainstays here. Some get a distinct English Harbour vibe, but with "krassem KrĂ€uterzusatz" (Tim) and a creamy, toffee-like sweetness. The palate is round, a bit woody, with "coconut, lots of creaminess and pretty sweet" (julie), but several mention the alcohol's punch and that it doesn't linger long. There's debate on complexity: "not a KomplexitĂ€tswunder,â says DosenZorn, while others find it layered and warming.

"01.02.2025 retasting at the Nordlichter tasting. --------------------------- Another release where the price tag is really good compared to what you get. Fruity with natural sweetness and caramel. The palate is nice and warm as I like it and the chocolate and coffee balances the overall profile. I had to rest it for a good while before the flavours really came through."
"Overall a great rum thatâs fresh, complex and unmistakable an English Harbour that tastes quite much as the 5yo, but of course with stronger tastes thanks to the higher ABV that I bought a sample of from RhumAttitude. Itâs a single barrel selection from Antigua Distillery Ltd distilled in 2015 based on molasses in their column still. Itâs aged in an ex-bourbon cask, bottled at cask strength at ABV 64,9% in just 257 bottles."
"Delicious typical chocolate flavor profile. However, intensity and complexity are too low for me for the higher ABV. High Congener I liked better."
"Not very complex, but very drinkable. Nice coconut notes and pleasant sweetness. Burns a little too much. Addendum: I have just shared a bottle of this in the forum and tasted the rum again when bottling. The overall impression is confirmed. The alcohol could be a little better integrated, but overall I think the bottling is slightly underrated."
