How does this rum taste?
Reviewers love the toasted coconut–caramel core with vanilla and dried fruits, leading to a long, warming finish. Expect roasted wood, nutty hints and touches of coffee/cocoa as it opens. This 7-year, 65% pot still Antigua release benefits from a good rest in the glass; some find the alcohol hot at first. Limited to 250 bottles and reviewed by 48 RumX members, many praise its value.

Excellent bottle, superb length. An atomic bomb that gives me such pleasure when I drink it. I bought a bottle!
This one was a huge surprise and when I look at the price tag you get a LOT for your money. Nicely fruity with spicy warm palate. The alcohol has been integrated pretty well. It needs to rest for 15-30 minutes to release all flavours and even the day after the glass smells wonderful.
A good Antigua, better than the 1423 SBS which should be a sister cask. On the nose rich of butter, glue and vanilla, the taste is really consistent but in the aftertaste adds a bit of burnt wood. Really nice
Sharp and aggressive on the nose, but mellows out after a good 20-30 minutes. Then you get toasted coconut and dark caramel glazed pineapple followed by zingy lemongrass and zest. Active cask profile with lots of malt and almost overpowering vanilla. A touch of flowers and anise at the end. More toasted coconut in the mouth, now with clear apple influences that were less apparent on the nose. Again lots of influence from the cask with extreme caramelisation, vanilla and malt. It’s hot and peppery, counterbalanced by sweeter nuttiness, sugar-dusted breakfast cereal and pine resin. Very nice, sweet and lasting finish ultimately ending in bitter espresso. The alcohol is not integrated perfectly. This needs some time in the glass before it’s optimal. Still the price/quality at release is absolutely nutty.
