How does this rum taste?
Most love the nutty chocolate, roasted wood and surprising freshness; critics find the alcohol sharp and complexity modest. Consensus: a strong, characterful Spanish-style cask strength for curious explorers.
If you enjoy high-strength Spanish-style rums like dry Dominicans but wish they were bolder and unsweetened, this is a logical step up—just be ready to tame the 69% with water.
Beginners, anyone sensitive to high ABV or alcohol bite, and drinkers expecting lush sweetness, heavy fruit or deep complexity from their premium-priced bottles.

This rum is like a chameleon: Fresh in the glass, it shows floral and fruity, with notes of pome fruit and citrus. With time, smoke aromas come to the fore. On the finish, one tastes light tobacco notes. The Spanish style is nevertheless recognizable the entire time, but due to the high alcohol content you have very strong flavors (and accompanying spiciness). A very interesting rum, which in my opinion is somewhat underestimated.
A pretty good release in my mind. Not super fruity but I like the nutty part and the roasted wood. Lightly dry on the palate but also warm and nice. Well balanced overall profile and the price tag is pretty OK.
Durchaus ansprechendes Profil.
