The Ecuador No. 19 rum, crafted in the Romero & Sons distillery, offers a robust and complex profile. Distilled from molasses in a column still and aged for 17 years, this Ecuadorian rum is finished at a bold 69% ABV, showcasing notes of caramel, dark chocolate, and hazelnut. This rum is like a chameleon: Fresh in the glass, it shows floral and fruity, with notes of pome fruit and citrus. With time, smoke aromas come to the fore. On the finish, one tastes light tobacco notes. The Spanish style is nevertheless recognizable the entire time, but due to the high alcohol content you have very strong flavors (and accompanying spiciness). A very interesting rum, which in my opinion is somewhat underestimated.
A pretty good release in my mind. Not super fruity but I like the nutty part and the roasted wood. Lightly dry on the palate but also warm and nice. Well balanced overall profile and the price tag is pretty OK.
Durchaus ansprechendes Profil. Zunächst schöne süsse Noten von Karamell, Nougat und Vanille, dazu frische Noten von Aprikose, Apfel und Zitrusfrüchten, nuancierte Gewürze und etwas herbere Anklänge von Röstigkeit, Nüssen und Milchkaffee. Die 60% sind erkennbar, von schlechter Alkoholintegration würde ich aber nicht sprechen. Hat durchaus Potenzial, bin gespannt auf weitere Abfüllungen.
Ein kräftig "süßer" Rum. Gefällt mir im Vergleich zu anderen Rums dieses Typs, wie z.b. aus der D.R. sehr gut, da er eine schöne frische in die cremige Karamel Schokolade bringt. Finde den Alkohol top eingebunden. Ist grundsätzlich aber nicht mein favorisierten Geschmacksprofil.
