„Colour of the SBS is significantly lighter vs. The Nectar. On the nose both clearly deliver (unaged) PM notes. However the cask influence on The Nectar is much more noticeable as the colour suggested. Clear point for The Nectar. On the palate, this SBS is significantly sweeter and more „virgin oak forward“ so to say. Alcohol is better integrated vs. The Nectar. While there are also (oaky) sweet notes and vanilla, The Nectar delivers a much darker profile which is more noticeable PM. Overall a hint to sharp for my liking.“

„Not too bad a release. ABV could have been integrated a lot better but the balance is still kind of there after resting for a good while. Nice sweet caramel in the profile and I like the roasted wood on the profile. The empty glass has a really nice touch to it after a while.“

„A very good PM! Stored only two years, you can hardly believe it... for this I feel him already quite complex! These dark aromas and the contrasting sweetness are really exciting and intense. A successful bottling“

„Fruitiness on the nose consists primarily of green grapes and dark raisins, clearly imposed by an unaged PM profile shining through. Despite its young age, the virgin oak is deceptive and has cheekily added a layer of soft caramel and toasted notes, most noticeably banana flambée, oak and vanilla. A subtle mixture of smoke, aniseed, earthiness and fennel adds slight complexity. The taste is quite linear. It’s thick, sweet and toasted. Little fruitiness remains as barrel notes completely take over. Some fresh apple is introduced, but it remains too flat and unchallenging. Ends in strong, bitter espresso accompanied by butterscotch sweets. Very after-dinner like and I can image this is an excellent digestif. Unfortunately the alcohol is not integrated very well. This needs lots of aeration to take the sharpness off and be truly enjoyable.“

„I rarely talk about the color of rums, but this one is quite surprising. The Port Mourant are usually straw colors but here we are on a beautiful dark gold. Surprising for a 2 year old! The official version is the use of a virgin oak barrel that has undergone a strong toasting (interior and voluntary carbonization of the barrel). Others will say the addition of a nice spoonful of molasses as Diamond is used to ... On the nose, we are far from the beautiful glue that may displease some but that I love at Port Mourant! Here: vanilla, salted butter caramel ... it is sweet and greedy! Blind, I defy anyone to find a PM! In the mouth, we come back to the basics of a PM: licorice, solvents, woody, red fruits, citrus, almond, vanilla“

„Au nez très agréable, suave, doux, le petit côté excitant de la pâtisserie qui sent bon le beurre et par contre en bouche on ne retrouve pas du tout c'est marqueur, on est carrément sur les marqueur du port mourant mais en moins prononcé“

„Nez très accrocheur : un beurre salé caramélisé avec une pointe de chocolat. Ça donne envie. Le nez n'est pas confirmé par une bouche trop vive. L'alcool laisse encore trop peu de place au reste pour moi. Finale courte et agréable, sur du caramel et une touche plus salée. C'est bon mais mérite de vieillir encore.“

„👃 nez puissant typique d'un demerara dark rum skeldon ou enmore avec un compte d'âge plus élevé avec un taux d'alcool élevé. C'est très surprenant quand on sait qu'il n'a que 2 ans de vieillissement. L'utilisation de barriques neuves y est pour qqch. Notes de ☕️, 🍫, légèrement de pruneaux également. 👄 bluffante : à l aveugle on jurerait que ce jus a bcp plus d'années de vieillissement. Le 🍫 et le ☕️ sont toujours présents, ainsi que le caramel façon bonbon Wherters Original. Finale longue compte tenu de son âge. Un must have surtout si vous arrivez à le trouver prix de sortie. (69 euros)“
