"A bewitching nose of passion fruit, candied fruit and citrus, with a light varnish. The palate is full-bodied from the start, with maracuja (passion fruit), white chocolate and spices. The finish is long and finishes on fruit with a slight woody bitterness. An absolutely delicious rum, surprisingly marked by passion fruit, with this light acidity and deep fruit. You feel transported to a tropical orchard. The empty glass is marked by wood and a slight smokiness, but the whole is perfectly balanced. Delicious!"
"A nicely balanced TDL with nice spices, fruit and a nice caramel and chocolate topping. The empty glass delivers even better flavours once its been standing for a while. A bottle hard to get already and if you get a chance you should give it a go. Price to quality is pretty good."
"A rum with a double face!Very citrusy and vegetal in the nose and instead in the taste very dark with lots of wood, dark chocolate and a smoky/carbonized part to act as a side but never invasive! At times it reminds me of monymusk 1997 begnoni! The best thing is that it has a crazy balance!"
"T.D.L is on a roll at the moment, establishing itself as a worthy successor to Caroni, its defunct neighboring distillery. This rum is reminiscent of Trinidad's terroir, with a very expressive nose: aromatic herbs, varnish, rubber, roasted and woody notes for the intense side, then exotic fruits (papaya, passion fruit, pineapple, blackcurrant) and citrus (lime) for the gourmet side. A fine balance between power and delicacy. The profile is extremely fruity on the palate: blackcurrant, papaya, maracuja, passion fruit, lime and kumquat follow one another to awaken the palate. Menthol, coffee, dark chocolate, leather and well-melted oak follow. Caramel, spices (licorice) and dark chocolate darken the very fresh profile of the first moments on the palate. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is long, fruity and fresh, opening onto a basket of exotic fruits, herbs and menthol. The finish is darker, intense and dry, with wood, spices, dark chocolate and slightly empyreumatic notes. A very fine, extremely tasty T.D.L."
