How does this rum taste?
Boulet de Canon 12 is a unique rum bottled by Compagnie des Indes, featuring a 46% ABV and distilled using a column still in multiple countries. This rum is heavily inspired by smoky single malt whiskies, with distinct aromas of peat, smoke, vanilla, and whisky, along with hints of hazelnut. Its flavor profile continues with pronounced smoky and whisky notes, complemented by nuances of cigar, hazelnut, and roasted nuts. While some find the peaty influence overpowering, fans of smoky spirits appreciate its balanced complexity. Ideal for whiskey enthusiasts and those curious about smoke-infused rums.

Absolutely great for whisky fans. Beautiful peat, cigar and herbal/nutty notes with a slight spiciness and acidity like pink pepper and balsamic. The rum adds nice honey and hazelnut/vanilla notes. Overall quite harmonious but you have to like whisky. I still find it a little lacking in complexity, perhaps an older or stronger rum would have been more exciting as a base. In this case, Lagavulin casks were used.
Very intense. Pure ashtray. Not for me.
Ziemlich gelungener Cdi
