How does this rum taste?
- Tropical fruit aroma
- Great in cocktails
- Entry-level friendly
The 'Malacca' Indonesian rum, produced at the Naga distillery, is distilled using a column still and presents a 40% ABV. This spiced rum is notable for its pronounced tropical fruit, orange, and mandarin aromas, leading into flavors of mandarin and kumquat with a syrupy texture. User reviews highlight its suitability for fruit-forward cocktails like Pina Colada, although its intense sweetness and candied notes may not appeal to all. It’s perceived as a welcoming entry-level spiced rum, enjoyable for those with a sweet tooth, yet others find it lacking depth. Its distinct taste is accented with hints of Indonesian spices, making it a polarized but intriguing choice for rum enthusiasts.

"there's not much for me to say, it's not rum but a spiced flavored with kumquats. of course, the fruit is very present and takes up all the space, as do oranges and mandarins. But there's nothing else! it's light, watery, sweet, a bit meaningless. I'm really not a fan of spiced, either too sweet or completely ghostly! It's just right to get beginners started."
"4.5.2023 voní po mandarinkách naložených v cukrové vodě, to bude asi ten kumquat chuť nejdřív jemná, hladká, nasládlá, po polknutí se rozvine strašně intenzivní sladkost a na konec se chuť zvýrazní nějakým kořením (vanilka, hřebíček, skořice? = Indonesian Spicies) je to brutus, víc skleniček se vůbec nedá vypít"
"Niet slecht, maar niet wat ik zoek in een rum. Sinaas & vanille"
"Very sweet rum, maybe elixir? I didn’t have a time to ask. Apricot is very intense and it could be great rum for cocktails, not for sipping."
