How does this rum taste?
- intensive nose despite low ABV
- great daily sipper, especially for agricole lovers
- excellent price-performance ratio
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 26 leans into classic agricole territory with pronounced sugarcane, grassy and woody notes. Most RumX members highlight an "intense nose" and surprising complexity for its low ABV: "super delicious smells...fresh agricole mixed with a nice fruit basket" (Galli33). The Gardel cask influence delivers "bittersweet wood and tobacco" (Lukas Jäger), while fruit and herbal qualities—especially mint and raisin—round out the aromas and flavor. As several users point out, the experience is easygoing but occasionally "a bit thin in the middle" (Johannes), making it a solid but not flashy sipper.

"This is really a good daily sipper, especially for argicole lovers. Nose: It’s start with super delicious smells! Like a fresh agricole mixed with a nice fruit basket (blum, raisin, pineapple, cherry) with a mint leaf on the top: Mouth: It’s more unspectacular and light/soft than expected, but well enjoyable. Finish: Medium long and dry with lovely agricole and lot of barrel notes with honey."
"Second tasting: after about an hour in the glass develop aromas of buckwheat honey, I like better than the first time ( 2). Nose: first I perceive typical Agricole aromas and walnut. Then spices wood and then dried fruit.Seeeevery mild, alcoholic sharpness is practically absent.Palate: the rum seems watery in the mouth at the beginning. But that changes surprisingly: the flavors take over and then the alcohol is also feltAftertaste: it remains mainly Agricole notes hang. From Gardelfass I notice nothing, but also do not know what I have to look for. Possibly the barrel is responsible for the toasty notes."
"A classic good Agricole; I'm missing the special edges and definitely a few percentages here!"
"Schöner Agricole vom Rumclub. In der Nase haben wir natürlich Agricole, sowie Zuckerrohr und diverse Früchte. Am Gaumen gesellt sich dann zum Agricole wieder etwas Frucht, sowie Kräuter und vor allem Minze."
