Velier Foursquare Triptych
Triptych is classic Foursquare: woody, spicy, and well-integrated, but with a more pronounced oak bite than some siblings. One to try if you like assertive wood and vanilla in your spirits.
Heavily oaked, nuanced Foursquare with spicy coconut notes.

How does this rum taste?
- alcohol is integrated sooo well
- very solid but the profile is intense
- beautiful woody and spicy notes
Triptych from Foursquare, bottled by Velier, is a rum that leans heavily into woody, spicy, and vanilla tones, with coconut and dried fruit threading through both aroma and palate. The oak is unmistakable; "oak tastes are everywhere" (Galli33), and several echo its presence, noting the blend’s complexity and dryness. Some, like mto75, mention "das Virgin Oak Cask...überlagert," while others savor the richer caramel and coconut nuances. Not everyone is swayed by the intense wood, but even critics rank it as a "very solid" and "phatastisch" sipper (Fuwi).

To Foursquare
"Velier FS (+ a fee spected other contenders) blind cross tasting: Honestly, the results here were very close. The Belier bottlings display a very high quality thourgout the range. Triptych and Pleni came out on top for me closely followed by Destino. I was somewhat surprised, that Sassafras and 2006 came out rather at the bottom, while I enjoyed both very much on their own. Raconteur also quite low in the ranking with Principia clearly at the bottom."
"For me the best Foursquare I’ve tasted so far. Maybe because it has a less then typical Foursquare flavor profile. 6/10/24: Remains a very good 4SQ"
"Very good, but due to the proportion of the blend from the Virgin Oak, this rum needs a lot of time in the glass to put down the pungent smell. Once it unfolds, you have a nice semi-complex Foursquare."
"Solid foursquare and a nice red fruit note from the ex Madeira cask, plus milk chocolate, but overall relatively little of the typical coconut banana note and more roasted nuts, herbs, forest honey and pine needles. The virgin oak is a little too dominant for me personally! Delicious but not outstanding."
