16.06.2022 A nice day running through samples at home. Thanks to Peter for giving me a sample from this small cute bottle. Notes Medium dark to dark in colour. Nose Intense, wood, light roasted, light tar, light polish, light earthy, dried fruit. Palate Oily, wood, light roasted, light tar, medium dry, medium spicy, light cherry, caramel. Finish Medium to long, balanced, medium spicy, oily, lightly dry, fruits, light roasted wood. Estra note. Needs to rest in order to open up properly. ABV integration is very good.
Very nice in the nose. The typical dirty 97 notes are very well balanced with some sweetness (honey) and some fruity notes. Much more complexity versus some more straight forward dirty 97 bottlings. Same holds true on the palate. A subtile sweetness is perfectly enhancing dirty notes. High intensity and a very good Caroni from 1997 indeed.
