Highly praised Fiji single cask with balanced funk, tropical fruit and spice. Alcohol is mostly well integrated; needs time to open but rewards patient sipping with a long, dry finish.

Dram Mor is quickly becoming one of my favourite independent whisky/rum bottlers. Not too expensive. No crazy finishes. Honest tasty stuff. So this is a South Pacific matured on Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels. Fiji is the most Jamaican, Worthy Park, whisky in taste outside Jamaica itself. Nose. All the Worthy Park classics: funk, banana, flowers. Added to that green tea and pencil shavings. Not overly funky..balanced. Taste: more tropical. Honey sweetness. Very tasty. Less of the scale than WP. It earns it's own character. A style I dig.
No big surprise with the Fiji, the markers are there! On the nose we recognize very well the profile of this distillery: green tea - waxy and very vegetal for the blow. It is rather complex and intense with peppery, pineapple and a touch of varnish! In the mouth, it's warm, intense... wow... but creamy and tasty! It's earthy, woody and on exotic fruits. The finish is long and dry on peppery/vanilla. It lingers in the mouth for a long time, it's impressive! Everything is there in this rum, a beautiful nose, a nice attack in mouth and a long, very long spicy finish. My favorite of the evening. As for the Guyana, no hesitation I order a bottle right away! I'm going to follow this bottler, because 2 bottles tasted ...
Auto-translatedRather closed, needs tine to open up. Dirty & funky, less fruity compared to other Fijis.
15.06.2022 A nice day running through samples at home. Notes Light to medium dark in colour. Nose Fresh, faint wood, light smoke, light herbs, pineapple, fruity, faint marzipan, raisin. Palate Light oliy, light wood, balanced, spicy, pineapple, fruity, light raisin, medium dry, herbs, light smoke, faint tar. Finish Medium to long, spicy, light wood, faint smoke, herbs, light medicinal, fruits. Extra note. Needs to rest for a good while to settle properly.
