"If I had to choose one of the light Barbados profiles, I would probably prefer Foursquare and Mount Gay. This 2007 fits the profile very well. It's a light, rather Spanish-fruited profile with a light varnish: vanilla-caramel-yellow fruit-cashews.In the mouth, the profile is very similar, a bit more volatile and tropical, yet very light. Finish is equally delicate and except for a hint of the caramel creamy taffy quickly gone. This is a nice rum, but at the level I would expect from Plantation single casks."
"Light and unspectacular"
"Yet another of the new samples that I was very excited about. Usually the Extreme releases are pretty good and this one was no exception. The nose is very fruity with spices, honey and leather as well as a very light floral note. Once rested the bite from the alcohol is all but gone. The palate is warm and fruity with wood, spices and light chocolate. The finish is very long with wood, dried fruit, spices and light chocolate. Leave the empty glass and try to nose it after a few hours to get even stronger flavours. I left the glass for the next day and it still had the most amazing flavours."
"A very subtle nose with fleeting aromas of citrus and apricot, accompanied with praline and wood.On the palate, first a honey sweetness, followed by mocha, wood and allspice... this also continues in the relatively short finish! A good, but not outstanding Barbados!Tasted again yesterday, my first impression was confirmed"
