How does this rum taste?
The Ron Botran Rare Blend Vintage French Wine Cask is produced in Guatemala by Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala. Distilled from sugar cane juice and aged in French wine casks, this 40% ABV rum offers sweet aromas with notes of chocolate and dried figs. Tasting reveals a sweet caramel profile with subtle fruity undertones, though some users feel the wine cask maturation results in an overly sweet and less natural flavor. It is praised for its uncomplicated character and is seen as suitable for beginners. Ideal as a dessert rum, it is enjoyed for its sweet nose and mild taste, though perceived as slightly overpriced by some enthusiasts.

An uncomplicated rum that is suitable as a dessert. A little too expensive for the target group it is aimed at. The maturation in wine barrels comes through well, but the 40% vol. weakens the taste a little, which is the case with 90% of all rums with this alcohol strength. The notes of caramel and marzipan are nevertheless very pleasant and persist from the nose to the finish. A good rum to enjoy on the side.
Weak rum with no distinct taste. In the wine there is a pleasant feeling of wine but that's all...
Promising nose, nice wood spice, quite mild and complex; also delicious on the tongue, sweet, vanilla, mild, spicy, nice finish, PLV too high
Maybe too much time in the wine casks. It had a less natural flavour and lacked any bite.
