How does this rum taste?
The Nectar Of The Daily Drams LBI is a Guyana rum distilled in 2012 by La Bonne Intention and aged for 10 years. Bottled at a high 62.6% ABV by The Nectar, this limited edition release is characterized by rich roasted and toffee notes with undertones of chocolate and spices. Aromas of vanilla, fruits, and light spices blend with the unexpectedly floral hints of papaya. While some find the alcohol integration lacking, others appreciate its potential and complexity after prolonged aeration. The uniqueness and depth make it a talking point among enthusiasts, but it may require patience to appreciate fully.

Has virtually zero in common with the famous representative of Velier, which is not least due to the almost imperceptible maturation. Unfortunately, the alcohol content is also still clearly noticeable even after more than two hours in the glass. With the LBI Marque, of course, high expectations are aroused, but even apart from that, the impression remains with me that here a distillate has found its way into the bottle, which would have done very well with a few more years of maturation.
Sorry, but this is not drinkable. It could also be a xpopular spirit of a South Georgian miner who has never known pre-middle and post-middle and who has co-distilled the blond mane of his favorite pony 🤷.
Interesting fresh, green, fruity, almost floral nose: unripe green papaya and still green plantain with green apple. Sweetness of honeycomb and sugar syrup. Above that, a light scent of rose water. Behind that hides some vanilla and mace.Surprisingly different on the palate: blatant licorice, and that soft sweet malty Danish licorice. There's also molasses, licorice, baking spice and some toffee. Also seems somehow chocolaty. In the finish remains this malty and spicy licorice note. The alcohol is very well integrated.Pleases me overall quite well and is something different.
Phew, no thanks. Disappointment in the glass. There is not much happening except alcohol with vanilla. Methinks the quality did not matter, the main thing is that you can slap LBI on it.
