How does this rum taste?
Pineapple jumps vibrantly from the glass, backed by waves of esters, overripe fruit, and a signature olive funk that Savanna HERR fans love. RumX tasters highlight fresh, dynamic aromas and a notably expressive, slightly vegetal profile, all bottled at an unapologetic 57%. While the bolder character and shorter finish split opinions, it’s a unique statement rum that intrigues adventurous sippers. Looking at the price tag you get a lot for your money in this one as well. Very fresh and fruity from opening the bottle and warm on the palate with some ester. I have tried a few HERR and this one is not fully up to par with the average. The 2019 is still my personal favourite ☺️
😵🤤😎 My favorite HERR blanc so far 😜I really love the taste of liquid gummi bears
Unfortunately, I don't like the new batch at all. I let it breathe for over an hour, but in direct comparison with the old Savanna Herr 57% or 62.5%, the typical pineapple gummy bear and general fruit power is almost gone. The ice candies are still there, but otherwise it has a very vegetable and fresh profile. Too bad. But there are several years in between and this shows just how much terroir and time can influence the taste of a rum that has not been produced for several years, as I learned in an interview with Noelle Traxel at the GRF 2022. Unfortunately, it is also disappointing for me in a daiquiri :(
This is the unmatured mature older brother of the old 57 versions. There are old flavours that really are gorgeous. I find this a huge improvement to the one before and mich more drinkable than the habitation
