The nose has lots of dark fruits, plum if I had to pick one. A good amount of wood and sweet, syrupy butterscotch. The palate is more wood driven than the nose. On the sweeter side. The PX has given this the Christmas fruitcake vibe. There's some apple in the background that tastes a little caramelised. The finish mellows to dark chocolate, coffee and wood notes. It's quite long and pleasant. Overall, this is a nice multi-country blend. If you like Mount Gay Black Barrel, this is one to try. Very similar in taste but with a PX finish.
Don’t really enjoy this one. I don’t pickup any of the vanilla or caramel notes I like. This smells burnt and doesn’t offer my palate much flavour. Will probably try to bury this as a mixer and not replace this bottle.
