„On the nose, predominantly dried fruit and subtle spice and wood notes. On the palate surprisingly present, slight bitterness, plus the obligatory prune, leather, licorice, wood, also caramel sweetness - compared to the other 2006s with the most bitter note, although this remains for me still in good balance. Aromatically quite with appealing complexity. Next to the SBS my favorite, because here compared to the quite round SBS also a few more corners and edges appear, which makes for pleasant tension. Compared to the 1994 representatives much less heaviness, the plum notes occur here rather in tandem with currant, the dark tones of wood, licorice, leather and caramel are much less pronounced. I am inclined - despite the aromatic complexity of this bottling - to speak of "REV Light." While the spectrum of 2006s also has its charm and the character is undeniably recognizable, in my eyes the REV profile benefits extremely from the long aging and resulting complexity. However, the reference points can also be described as almost unfair for the younger bottlings, especially for proven lovers of the 1994 REVs.“

„Great REV! Dark, malty and complex. The fruit is not in the first place, but always accompanies the aromatics. One tastes the eight years of tropical storage in my opinion very well, thereby the barrel has worked well. Bitternotes are quite present, but not yet exaggerated. 2006 can definitely also what.“

„Nose: very fruity, versatile and decidedly beguiling. On the palate (unfortunately) with a strong bitterness that extends far into the finish. Overall, however, very good and complex.“

„Once again a REV and I like this style very much.Full and complex nose: dark malty, dark fruity and dark spicy at the same time. Dried black currant and pickled Amarena cherry with some raisin. Chocolate and vanilla powder right next to it. It seems slightly burnt and charred, plus sweet pipe tobacco and neat dry wood as well as some Maggi and licorice. Still blood orange at the back. Yummy!Intensely salty-bitter-woody and distinctly sour on the palate, lots of wood acidity. Strongly burnt, dark and somewhat metallic-artificial-dirty. I find some lemon zest and dried plum. Spicy in the back, resinous with some black tea. In the finish bitter, burnt, woody, some licorice.Nice and compact on the nose, a bit too acidic on the palate for me. But a good one!“

„On their first encounter, SBS and Nobilis are very much toe to toe. Nose goes to Nobilis for a little more openness and complexity. SBS takes the palate with (comparably) less wood/bitterness which leaves more room for some dried red fruits, which I don’t really find in the Nobilis very much - on my first try at least 🤔 Both very nice REVs, if you do enjoy this kind of dark and bitter profile.“

„Very tasty! The first 2006 REV that reminds me of the SBS. Very harmonious and much less bitter and demanding as the romdeluxe.“

„A worthy heir to its alembic, this REV-style Diamond / Enmore nonetheless looks a little grey at first, with a rather light, shy nose of dried fruit, dark woody notes, sweet spices, chocolate and molasses. Although there are a few typical markers (leather, malt, dark chocolate and coffee), this is a fairly discreet rum lacking the floral exuberance of the 1994 vintage REVs. The attack on the palate is intense and particularly bitter. The dark side of Enmore is counterbalanced by salty notes, burnt sugar, aromatic herbs, molasses and dark chocolate among others. Spices (licorice, cloves, chili), leather, caramel, black tea and malt are also present, creating a profile that is as confusing as it is generous. The alcohol is well integrated. The rum needs plenty of aeration to show its full potential. The finish is bitter, long and dark. Black tea, spicy wood and the coffee/dark chocolate/leather combo are more intense than dried fruit and herbaceous notes.Without comparing it to the 1994 vintage, it's interesting to see the differences and similarities between rums of the same style from different eras. Without being the most incredible Diamond / Enmore ever, it's a pretty captivating profile that could do wonders in a few years' time.“

„I love the REVs. The 94s are already a bit better, but the 2006s have a very high quality besides a slightly bitter off note. This one is one of them!“
