How does this rum taste?
The Rum Artesanal HD C<>H draws a lot of discussion for its pronounced esters, bright pineapple and tropical fruits, and an undercurrent of varnish and wood. Themes of marzipan, salt, and even olive echo throughout. While some find it less explosive than other '93 Hampdens, others, like @crazyforgoodbooze, call it a “schöne Mischung aus Marzipan, Olivenlake, Salzgebäck und Ananaschutney!” Meanwhile, @alex simply notes, “très fruité, sur l’ananas et les fruits tropicaux.” The alcohol is generally well integrated after time in the glass, and the complexity keeps fans coming back, even if some expected more punch for the age and reputation.

The expectations of the legendary 1993 vintage could not quite be met. Nevertheless, a very nice Hampden that is fun to drink.
Sorry for the rating but it's really not my cup of tea... after another tasting it's just undrinkable, the varnish is omnipresent on the nose (nothing really titillating for me) and on the palate it's just undrinkable. It's a personal opinion but I can't do that... very surprised that it's rated 88... for 385 euros there's a lot better... really better...
I let the rum breathe for an hour before tasting. Had promised me much more on the nose and am therefore disappointed. No comparison to the Nobilis 93. Taste definitely a board and a good rum, BUT from a HD 93 I just expect that he knocks me down. For the equivalent of 392 € on 0.7 liters, we are also sporty in price. I like the finish best. All in all, you have a lot of fun with the rum, but for the money and the legendary vintage 1993 for me a disappointment. Nevertheless, I award a good 88 points.
Unfortunately, this Hampden disappointed my expectations. The nose is really fruity and funky....as expected. But it is very astringent, almost undrinkable. Even a few drops of water don't make it any better.
