How does this rum taste?
RumX members praise this Beenleigh selection for its dry, herbal profile and bourbon-cask polish. Pear and butterscotch lead the nose; eucalyptus, spice and white grapes follow over young oak and brioche. The 48% feels well judged, and the unsweet style shines neat. Popular on RumX with 55 reviews, it’s a confident pick for crisp, wood-forward Australian rum.

I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 260,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.

Nice alcohol strength. Not too much not too little. Very nice after brioche
Actually always impressed so far with the cask choices of independent bottles with beenleigh. Super dry and top profile. Fruit and buttery doughy profiles that are well integrated with wood notes of a bourbon cask
Tasted at UK RumFest but later in the day, so just an initial overall rating given.
The half-empty bottle has been sitting in my cupboard for a year now. This waiting time has really done the rum a lot of good. The nose is extremely fruity, sweet and the apple mentioned several times comes across even better than in the freshly opened bottle at the time. It has many similarities with an English Harbour Antigua, which I really like. The 48% burn is less than a year ago. Mirabelle plum, wood and caramel have a positive influence on the palate and the slight floral note makes the whole thing even more interesting. Very tasty.
