How does this rum taste?
RumX members love how this bourbon-cask Mhoba layers roasted coffee/chocolate with vanilla, honey and light wood, with flashes of banana and pineapple. On the palate it’s roasted, spicy and sugarcane-forward, finishing long, woody and fruity. At 64.8% the alcohol is present but generally well controlled; some even say it shines in cocktails. Limited to 150 bottles and highly rated by 19 RumX reviews.

#4650 09.03.2024 relaxing at home with some nice samples from Roberto. Nose Light wood, faint roasted, floral, dried fruit, light honey, sugarcane, light vegetal. Palate Wood, roasted, spicy, ester, fruity, light sugarcane, faint salt. Finish Long, wood, spicy, light roasted, fruity. Beautiful slow moving curtains in the glass. The empty glass has some light grass and faint caramel.
Alcohol much better integrated than in the HV Mhoba 2017. I like this one a little better, it's just a shame that it's not available in Europe.
Probably due to the bourbon finish a not quite typical Mhoba with less fruity ester notes, but nevertheless a complex, beautiful rum.
Good Mhoba with classic fruit aromas, flanked by some caramel and wood as well as crisp young wood. Quite offensive on the palate, the alcohol is evident but remains under control overall. Challenging, but still appealing.
