A rum tasted at Sansibar in Sylt. A flattering nose of caramel and fruit: orange and pineapple. Black pepper, chocolate, cappuccino and pear on the palate. The finish is rather short, with pear and black pepper remaining. A nice bitterness crowns the whole. A small thrill to taste a rum from this famous independent bottler who is also a well-known restaurant.
Aroma: fresh sweet aroma of cane (very similar to the aroma of El Dorado 8, only more saturated), mango, fresh apple, pear. Taste: sweet, dense, fruity, lots of wood in the taste. Long floral-honey aftertaste. Very sweet and very tasty, the exposure feels, but I don't know for 25 years, maybe if only solars, then probably not even bad. But I want to get something more interesting from Panama from an independent bottler besides wood, flowers and sweets a la BotucalRE.
