How does this rum taste?
RumX members praise Cubaney Gran Reserve Centenario for its smooth, balanced profile where vanilla and caramel meet American oak. Reviewers note evolving complexity after a short rest—tobacco, leather, toasted coconut and gentle spice—leading to a long, dry-woody finish. Several call it sweet but not cloying, with good value for the quality. With 45 reviews and rising trust, it’s a confident pick for lovers of oak-driven Dominican rum.

My favorite from Oliver & Oliver. It’s of course sweet, it’s an O & O, but not too sweet. The aromas and flavors are there from the start and linger until the rather long end. The predominant flavors are vanilla and cream caramel.
This is a great rum from Oliver & Oliver and I have just had it once more. I have tried to leave the glass for the next day and then give it a good whiff only to discover even more notes. A wonderful well balanced rum with spices and oak at its heart. A bit of oak smokiness on the day after in the glass. None the less a very good price to quality.
8,6:On the nose, the first impression we get is round and tempting with vanilla, caramel and fatty woodiness, cigar tobacco, leather, perhaps some mint. It is slightly fruity and tangy, mingles with sweet spices like nutmeg or cinnamon or perhaps pepper. Aeration brings out an American oak. The vanilla is more intense, joined by a toasted coconut, dried fruits. A few notes of toasted oak smoke come after a nice rest, with a pinch of pepper. 8,7:On the palate, the attack is balanced, less sweet than on the nose, very round, so smooth and pleasant, dominated by the American oak and yellow fruits, but more roasted and some sweet spices. The vanilla and caramelized nuts give us some sweetness, with orange. Again, tobacco, leather end the first part. 8,5:The finish is sweet and long, woody, dry, slightly spicy, fruity with notes of yellow fruits, banana, toasted coconut, some caramel and maple syrup, leather and tannins.
Wow, what a fantastic rum. A really mild note of caramel, vanilla, chocolate and coffee on the nose and palate. You really notice the long ageing period of over 25 years here. Really fantastic for 41%.
