To Ninefold DistilleryBy rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 46,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
Just the right alcohol strength. Very nice aromas of caramel and vanilla that don't come across as artificial or with added sugar. Can definitely be recommended. Took 1st place in a tasting with 5 other Scots and 3 other rums
The nose is muted and for me the weakest part of the rum. Really doesn’t get you excited. The mouth has light spice, with maple notes and sugar and butterscotch. On the finish it starts fairly flat but builds into intense butterscotch, with just a hint of mint. The sweet buttery finish with cream toffee is really impressive for an unsweetened and young Scottish rum. I am not quite a buyer based on the first taste but one of the best British rum outfits for sure - I’ll continue to try with keen interest
Amzing, depth and flavour
Like eating an ice cream in damp woods with a 10p chomp instead of a flake. Delicious and smooth in a way that belies the ABV. Clearly a lot of thought and craft has gone into this. If I had the money I’d switch my Ray and Nephew for this every time. In fact I’d sell my mate Ray and his Nephew for a bottle.
