Simply excellent. Brings the Demerara-typical, unique in this form oak vanilla note in perfection in glass. In addition, chocolate melt, hints of latte, fine spices, caramel, a touch of dried fruit and allspice ... I am impressed time and again by the aromatic force that this bottling conjures up in the glass. That a completely tropically stored Guyana in the Skeldon Marque with such a high-class profile remains available for so long at the issue price is in view of the current demand m.E. not rationally explainable - but shall be fine with me. An absolute price-performance tip, even at prices well beyond the 200€.
The brother of the Skeldon 2001 S.B.S. "The Nectar", but with many nuances. A very similar nose, with brown sugar and vanilla. More sweetness. Sweetness and vivacity, super interesting. Beautifully dark, lively, deep and elegant on the palate. Long, rich finish. The empty glass reveals more fruit and a slight smokiness. It's like being in a private English club, with old varnished wood, a fireplace and cracked leather armchairs. More balanced than the Enmore 1996, it deserves a few more points. Best with the Skeldon 2001 from S.B.S. RX13842 in this little Skeldon tasting, and more complex than the "Soulfire".
Certainly one of the best Skeldons. A full load of chocolate with roasted aromas, plus all kinds of fruit, vanilla and caramel. Smells bombastically delicious. The nose continues in the mouth, with the chocolate and mocha dominating strongly, paired with dry wood and leather. Dark notes, heavy sweetness and citrus fruits remain. Round to the max. This is exactly my taste and the best rum I've had in my glass so far. Hence the high score!
wow🤤. a mixture of banana split and rum grape nut chocolate both on the nose and in the taste. very very cool! a bit like baked honey banana with dark chocolate grated over it and a bar of rum grape nut with orange peel and toasted barrel. in the finish then subtle mocha coffee notes, dried apricot, date, salted pecan, as well as beautiful, slightly bitter roasted aromas and tannins. Extremely tasty and balanced! Compared to the Albion and Diamond CBH, however, it's almost a little too incomplex for me. But that's really complaining on a very high level. Nevertheless, an absolutely fantastic rum at an incredibly fair price for the quality on offer! Definitely still the king in terms of PLV as far as Skeldon SWR is concerned!
