How does this rum taste?
Rum Artesanal Venezuela Rum, distilled in 2005 by C.A.D.C. in Venezuela, offers a unique 17-year aged profile at 57.8% ABV and rare 342-bottle release. Crafted from molasses and aged at cask strength, this rum intrigues with its herbal and medicinal notes. Users describe a nose and palate rich in licorice, mint, chocolate, and herbal complexity. The rum's finish maintains a dry and spicy character, sparking debate among rum enthusiasts over its distinctive taste profile, which some find akin to herbal liqueurs or medicinal syrups. Critiques highlight the dominant herbal flavors overshadowing traditional rum nuances, but there's no denying its bold character and craftsmanship.

7,5:On the nose, we are attacked with wild herbs, like Ricola candies, some mint, dark chocolate, some caramelized roasted nuts, coffee and wood, resin with dried currants, fruit compote and dried fruits. Aeration brings out some tobacco, licorice is still strong, underneath weak tropical fruits try to make some mark, but after some real rest, herbs go weaker, rum becomes more roasted, medicinal with smoke, perhaps even floral and woody. 7,5:On the palate, we have wild herbs mixed with chocolate, cocoa, licorice candy, resin, mint, bitter orange, some wood and peppery, juniper, dried currants, hints of dried fruits and metallic note, leather. All round and balanced. 7,6:The finish is dry, fresh, minty, spicy, quite long with some caramel, roasted notes, cocoa and coffee. Weird, but not bad at all... I like it. 👍
Extrem ungewöhnliche Mischung aus medizinischen und kräutrigen Eindrücken - mit etwas Standzeit wird er runder; dass dieser Rum geliebt oder gehasst wird, ist verständlich, ich persönlich stehe auf diese Komposition
Lecorice for 100%
Super krass kräutig. Im Abgang erinnert mich das eher an Zahnspülung als an Rum aber spannend ist es allemal. Muss ich aber nicht im Schrank stehen haben.
