Mount Gay RA Barbados Rum BMMG 2000
Highly praised cask-strength Mount Gay: powerful, dry and woody with herbal mint, citrus and subtle smoke. A distinctive BMMG profile that rewards fans of spicy, characterful Barbadian rums.
Fans of dry, spicy Barbados rums who enjoy strong wood influence, herbal mint/anise notes and cask-strength intensity, plus Mount Gay drinkers curious about the more rugged BMMG marque.

How does this rum taste?
Dry, woody, minty Mount Gay power
If you like drier, spicy Mount Gay or Clarendon-style funk and want more wood, mint and power, this BMMG cask strength will likely hit a very satisfying sweet spot.
Those sensitive to high ABV, anyone preferring sweet, rounded Barbados rums, or drinkers who dislike dominant oak, herbal bitterness or noticeable anise tones.
The long storage time is reflected in the aroma profile: the rum is good on the wood with a little smoke. Very spicy with strong ethereal notes of mint, a little acidic, no significant sweetness. A special marque that divides tastes. Not my favorite Mount Gay, but a solid rum. Price: 95 euros per 0.5 liters.

A beautiful walk in the woods that leaves a dreamy furriness on the palate.
I just don't get along with the 2000 bmmg Mark. Alcohol absolutely not well integrated, sourly smoky and tobacco-heavy and much too woody. Sorry but this is for me a failure.
Independent Mount Gay. Let's go. Nose: juniper. Yoghurt. Citrus. So there's a weird mix of acidic fruits and dairy going on. Whiff of smoke...very faint. Interesting. Not your common rum. The juniper/gin note is very much there Taste: so there a bit of smokiness here, from the cask?? Peppery/spicy. Some freshness. The dairy is gone though. Typical Mount Gay flavours with an edge. It's a weird one. Will retry soon. As for now...decent old rum.
Solid Mount Gay, which has a little too much anise for me personally. Reminds through the herbaceous mint something of Clarendon.
