The Barbados Rum (Kirsch Import) is a limited release from Foursquare distillery, bottled by independent bottler Berry Bros & Rudd. Distilled in 2010 and aged for 11 years, this rum blends molasses in a pot and column still, achieving a 51.9% ABV. Its aroma features distinct notes of vanilla and smokiness, complemented by berries and fruity sweetness. The palate reveals caramel, red fruits, and woody undertones with a rounded finish. Reviews praise its mild, fruity character and approachable nature, while some note that the alcohol isn't fully integrated. 22.05.2022 Running through samples at home. Notes Medium to dark in colour. Nose Fresh and balanced, light wood, faint smoke, citrus, light caramel, pineapple, light earthy. Palate Light oily, wood, light roasted, fruity, citrus, light pineapple, faint chocolate, light caramel, light tobacco. Finish Medium long, balanced, fruity, light pineapple, wood, tobacco, medium spicy.
Finish works very well. Very fruity and round FS. Very mild and approachable. Should definitely appeal to FS fans.
Unusual Foursquare with a finish in Sauternes, very fruity, alcohol not fully integrated. Overall OK.
Let me start by saying that I like FS, especially the woody flavours. In the aroma, the sweetness of the fruit mixes with a bit of woodiness to the point of being stale...my wife even said she likes it more than it smells. The flavor is a nice rounded, light, fresh taste of sweet fruit and barrel. It's like there's no alcohol in it either, but there is, the finish is shorter but the flavor is still there a while after tasting it. Yes, I can and would enjoy a whole bottle of this.
