How does this rum taste?
Rivière Bel'Air Récolte from Martinique's La Favorite distillery is a 2021 release distilled from sugar cane juice and matured for 7 months. With a 53% ABV, this limited edition agricole rum offers a harmonious blend of fresh sugarcane, citrus, and herbal notes. It is characterized by a soft, naturally sweet palate featuring hints of grass and sugar, while subtle mint and citrus grace its medium finish. Critics have noted its slightly less expressive nature in dry punch-style cocktails compared to its contemporaries, but it is praised for its complexity and balance. Only 8100 bottles were produced, enhancing its appeal to collectors and connoisseurs.

By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 46,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
MaJ: Rating adjusted downwards. It's very good but less expressive in a dry ti-punch compared to DePaz 55% (the new reference in white agricole). Original verdict: Clearly above the Dillon 2019 monovarietal. There's a little cellar note that smells musty but, big surprise, it's very pleasant and adds more complexity to the work. If you're thinking in a "should I buy this bottle" sort of way, do you also know that I'm a big incorruptible fan of white rums made with red cane and only red cane. For those who share my taste, highly recommended. Truly high quality. The thick red wax seal around the mouth adds a touch of class to the experience too.
Disappointing nose but superb balance afterwards, on the sweet greediness in the mouth and a very light bitterness in the finish. Very nice version of the Bel'Air
On the nose citrus, floral, lightly toasted ,peppery and with ripe. On the palate you are immediately enveloped by moss, earth, herbs and flowers, it feels like autumn woody loam in the mouth mixed with spring, really fantastic and without an edge of astringency, a rich and sweet finish of warm honey, where some pepper, citrus and light roastiness also returns. Masterpiece! Quintessential red cane. In the empty glass chamomile, young wood and light roastiness. I tried blending it with La Favorite La Créole and it achieves perfection.
05.06.2022 A nice day running through samples. Notes Transparent in colour. Nose Fresh, sugarcane, herbs, light citrus, light anise. Palate Oily, round, fresh, light hers, warm, light vegetal, sugarcane, naturally sweet, citrus, light mint. Finish Medium long, round, sweet, light oily, light mint, light citrus.
