- Fruity and smoky flavor profile
- Bold Jamaican character
- Well-integrated alcohol
The "LPCH" rum, bottled by Old Brothers, is a Jamaican delight crafted from molasses and distilled using a pot still. Aged for 12 years, it boasts a robust ABV of 60.1%. This limited release offers only 566 bottles. Tasting notes emphasize prominent aromas of pineapple, banana, and olive, with a touch of solvents and peach. On the palate, expect a harmony of vanilla, olive, pineapple, and roasted banana. Rum enthusiasts appreciate its bold, fruity, and smoky flavor profile, reflecting Jamaican 'funk' and well-integrated alcohol. However, some find the complexity slightly lacking and the price high. "This one was crazy, I could get the Jamaican funk from jus poring the rum into my glass. Once rested it was a really intense nose, and that in a good way. Funky and fruity from start to finish with a medicinal and roasted wood touch. Price to quality is pretty good."
"Aged Jamaican without frills. Straightforward profile with plenty of fruit and tart wood notes. Qualitatively absolutely solid, but will not remain in my memory for too long due to the lack of originality."
"An intoxicating nose! The olive joins the tropical fruits in a comforting woody. A mouth with a fresh and yellow attack. Soft and marked by stewed fruits. The finish is light but delicious."
"The nose is already great...a nice interplay of fruit , spice and pastry! On the palate it spreads creamy and quite intense..after initially some fruit, young wood, slightly toasty and lots of delicious spice! A touch of black tea joins in!The finish is medium long, strong with espresso and spice notes!Actually, I'm not so a friend of blends, but this and the WuDram Finest Jamaica please me quite well"
