Nobilis Hampden No. 14 <>H

Ester bomb with fruit, funk, and balanced youthful heat.

A fruity, funky Hampden that piles on esters, glue, and pineapple with a surprisingly easy drinking style. One to try if you’re drawn to marzipan and bold tropical funk.

    How does this rum taste?

    Magnificently integrated alcohol
    Frucht, fruchtiger, am fruchtigsten
Very nice balance between esters and notes from the cask

Nobilis No. 14 <>H is a Hampden that lights up the room with classic high esters, punchy pineapple, and glue. The nose is "so lecker and... can spend so much time" on it (@Alexander Rasch), while many point to marzipan and that unmistakable nail polish hit. On the palate, overripe tropical fruit and balancing oak are standouts, and the rum’s "magnificently integrated" alcohol surprises despite its high ABV (@John Coffey). Round, bold, and full of that signature Hampden funk, it's a sipping rum that sparks plenty of debate over which bottling has the edge.

Very tasty.... From the nose to the finish very successful... it comes along relatively strong and self-confident... it contains all the important Hampden markers (pure ester), which fits and the price is perfectly okay here!

Nobilis N14 vs. SBS. Crown goes to the Nobilis. While both are extremely nice, the SBS feels more heavy and closed up. The Nobilis almost feels elegant with a very nice balance between esters and notes from the cask. Both are beasts however and I‘m surprised how much I like the actually. Nice cask selection from both bottlers.

Ester, glue, pineapple, mango, citrus and fermented fruit on the nose. Intense and creamy/oily on the palate with lots of ripe and overripe fruit, glue. Overall, the ester/gluten notes are very present here. The finish is very long. Alcohol is also perfectly integrated.
