The Trinidad Rum, bottled by Precious Liquors & The Auld Alliance, hails from the renowned Caroni distillery. Distilled in 1998 from molasses and aged for 23 years, it possesses a bold ABV of 57.1%. Limited to just 255 bottles, this rum is celebrated for its complex aromatic profile of dark chocolate and tar, complemented by vanilla undertones. Users appreciate its balance of fruit, earthy tones, and warmth, characteristic of Caroni rums. Despite some notes on alcohol integration, it’s considered a top release for 1998.

For me on the GRF, in contrast to the 1998 Caroni from Rum Artesanal, this is by far the better of the two. Although it is again only a continental '98 Caroni, I find it one of the best from the vintage of its group from memory. And for 350€, I think it's a fair price.
Nice, very balanced and complex. Delivers a nice mix of dirt, fruits and dark notes.
A very powerful and complex Caroni that brings both fruity and Caroni-typical aromas to the nose and palate. The maturation is at its zenith. The only minimal point of criticism is perhaps the imperfect, but not really bad alcohol retention. Other bottlings have been a little more elegant. But that's complaining on a very high level.
Alcohol very well integrated, overall a beautifully complex 98!
