Gleiches Profil wie der „Confrerie du Rhum“, aber deutlich intensiver und komplexer. Absoluter Top-Agricole!
#4458 08.11.2023 I really like these private cask releases. Not only are they exciting but they can also be very different in the profile. This one is fresh and fruity with nice roasted wood. The palate is medium dry and velvety with fruits. The finish is long and dry with nice citrus. The empty glass has stronger chocolate notes as well as light nutts.
This bottling has been aptly named “for cigarshops” because it was specifically made to be paired with a nice cigar, and not because it supposedly tastes extremely smoky. Let’s see. It presents itself densly packed with aromas and easily approachable. Something not necessarily atypical for Cléments. Immediate wafts of white coconut flesh and dried fruits leave the mouth watery. It smells sweet of vanilla icecream topped with crème fraîche, milky cappuccino, and a side of nougat. This dessert-like peace is disturbed by a slight volatility from a hint of vinegar. In the mouth an explosion of flavour and vastly different than expected, expressing itself in quite rare ways. Instant transportation to a 30°C midsummer night, somewhere in Northern Africa, on a sand swept rooftop and a starry sky overhead. Powerful release of tannins with old wine, medjool dates, grape leaves and dried fruits. Then a leafy sweetness evolving into vanilla incense and lightly smoky chamomile tea building up into more and more tobacco notes driving an exceptionally dry finish. Ends quite lengthy for its age with more grape leaves, slight wood and tobacco. It stays very dry throughout its finish.
