How does this rum taste?
RumX members praise the ripe tropical fruit and banana here, backed by vanilla and warm spice. This Clarendon leans subtle rather than high-ester funk, easy to drink at 48.4% with a smooth, medium finish of wood and vanilla. Some note a light cognac vibe. Well-regarded by 114 RumX reviews and a popular pick, it's a solid Jamaica choice with good value for approachable sipping.

First impression of this delicious bottle I'd very good, and I have been looking forward to this one. The JAMAICA 2003 49,5% birds series I love, and find that bottel very nice. The firste taste of this new one, is very good but not as good as the last one. But it is just my first impression, it may change 😊
The nose has an unpleasant pungent alcoholic, chemical note that if you are not careful also appears on the palate. The taste is fermented banana and very sweet pineapple.
Would not have guessed Clarendon in a blind tasting I think… intensive fruits (banana) on the nose. To me the cognac finish is very present in all segments. Not bad, but somewhat not balanced enough to make a outstanding low ester Jamaican. ABV is fine to me. Does not feel watered down while still being very approachable.
