14.05.2022 Had a nice meet up with some nice rums, good friends and also new rum enthusiasts. Thank you to my Swedish friend for bringing this nice bottle to the tasting. Notes Dark in colour. Nose Light wood, faint smoke, fruits, light cherry, polish, faint tobacco. Palate Oily, round, balanced, light wood, faint coffee, medium spicy, light tar, faint coffee, light cherry. Finish Medium to long, light wood, faint roasted, faint caramel, dried fruit, faint tar, warm.
Un échantillon récupéré au Lucerne Rum Festival. Un nez vif avec des fruits, beaucoup de fruits tropicaux, du vieux bois verni et de l’atelier mécanique en arrière plan. La bouche est délicate avec un parfum floral jamais dégusté chez Caroni. Les fruits arrivent avec du melon et ensuite de tes agréables notes pâtissières. Beaucoup d’amplitude. La finale est fraîche et florale, fruitée et gourmande. Un très beau rhum qui m’emmène sur un marché dans un pays tropical avec toutes sortes d’échoppes vendant des fruits, des fleurs et quelques ateliers de réparation mécanique.
Ein ziemlich fruchtiger und sehr runder Caroni. Die medizinische Phenolnote wird nur dezent im Geruch angedeutet und die teerige Seite ist zwar durchweg erkennbar, nimmt jedoch zu keinem Zeitpunkt überhand. Nennenswerte Ecken und Kanten sind nicht vorhanden, was für ein enorm süffiges und mildes Trinkerlebnis sorgt, das mir aber mit seiner unbeschwerten Vielschichtigkeit sehr viel Genuss bereitet.
I find it very good. Sweet. Not dirty, rather round. Definitely red fruit on the non-biting nose. Blackberry!!! 😋 In the emptied glass I smell shoe polish. On the palate just a pleasing, not very typical Caroni that doesn't want to hurt. Recommendation!Update 19.06.2022:Can't keep up in direct comparison with the Velier Caroni Employees 6th of course, simply paler, therefore 3 points devaluation to still a very good 87 points.Update 09.07.2022:Last drops from the bottle. Detect a fine earthy, rooty note on the finish. 😋 It would be unfair not to upgrade - so finalmente 88 points! 👏
